10.19.7.20 Embargoes on Arrears of Belgian Pensions

Embargoes

Article 27 of the Agreement with Belgium contains bilateral embargo provisions. This means that any overpayment of Australian pension following the grant of a Belgian pension can be withheld from any arrears of Belgian pension before it is paid to the recipient, and vice versa. CIS is responsible for liaising with Belgium and making the necessary arrangements.
