Requirement to claim a benefit from Hungary

The Agreement with Hungary does not contain special provisions to make it compulsory for people claiming Australian pensions under the Agreement to also claim a Hungarian benefit. However, the SS(Admin)Act requires that all Australian pensioners take reasonable action to claim a comparable foreign entitlement from overseas. This requirement is covered by CFP legislation explained in 7.3.1.
