Requirement to claim a pension from Latvia

The Agreement with Latvia does not contain special provisions to make it compulsory for people claiming Australian pensions under the Agreement to also claim a Latvian benefit. However, section 66 of the SS(Admin)Act requires that all Australian pensioners take reasonable action to claim a comparable foreign entitlement from overseas. This requirement is covered by CFP legislation explained in 7.3.1.
