Embargoes on Arrears of Netherlands' Benefits

Article 22 of the Agreement with the Netherlands contains embargo provisions discussed in This means that any overpayment of Australian benefit resulting from the grant of Netherlands' benefit can be withheld from any arrears resulting from the grant of that benefit. Centrelink International Services is responsible for liaising with the Netherlands and arranging this.

The Netherlands can similarly ask Australia to withhold from its arrears an amount equal to a Netherlands' overpayment and transfer this amount to the Netherlands.
