Article 16 of the Agreement with Ireland contains embargo provisions discussed in This means that any overpayment of Australian benefit resulting from the grant of Irish benefit can be withheld from any arrears resulting from the grant of that benefit. Centrelink International Services is responsible for liaising with Ireland and arranging this. The same applies to arrears of Australian benefits.
