10.9.8.40 Proportional Income - Agreement with Ireland

Proportional income

Article 12 of the Agreement with Ireland provides that only a proportion of any Irish benefit is to be assessed as income when calculating the rate of Australian benefit paid overseas. This concessional treatment only applies when the person's Australian benefit is proportionalised (10.1.9.20). See 10.1.9.40 for the general method for working out proportional income.

See also 10.9.8.60 for details of Irish benefits disregarded from Australia's income test under Article 10.
