2.2.13.10 Supplementary benefits - verification required

Introduction

The following table lists the verification required for the payments/benefits in the supplementary benefits grouping. If more detail is required about specific verification, the second column indicates where you will find this. PhA, clean energy advance (CEA), ES, SFSS, TAL, RAA and FAA are not included in the table, as everything is verified with the primary benefit.

Verifying enrolment in an approved course

Evidence of enrolment must be obtained if:

  • doubt exists about the enrolment, OR
  • an EdEP has been requested in advance, OR
  • whether the course is ABSTUDY approved.

Explanation: Although the legislation refers to an ABSTUDY approved course, the person does not have to be qualified for ABSTUDY. An ABSTUDY approved course includes all courses approved under the ministerial determination of education institutions and courses (1.1.A.210) as well as some additional ABSTUDY approved courses - refer to 3.8.6.10.
