The Guides to Social Policy Law is a collection of publications designed to assist decision makers administering social policy law. The information contained in this publication is intended only as a guide to relevant legislation/policy. The information is accurate as at the date listed at the bottom of the page, but may be subject to change. To discuss individual circumstances please contact Services Australia. Date of event unclear

Generally speaking, there are few 'events' (a change in circumstance which would affect payment) that do not have a concrete date of occurrence.

Where a date of occurrence cannot be clearly identified, for instance if none of the usual date of effect rules apply, the determination will take effect on the day which it is made or a later date that is specified in the determination.
