Special benefit A person receiving SpB will receive a CES payment in respect of the qualifying payment (NSA, YA, or Austudy) according to which the person's SpB rate has been calculated.

Note A: Prior to 20 June 2015, ES, paid to CSHC holders was included in their seniors supplement. On and after 20 June 2015, seniors supplement was replaced by ES for holders of a CSHC so that their ES was directly linked to holding that card.

Note B: A person who is partnered, though separated from their partner due to illness, respite care or the partner being in prison, received a rate calculated at either the single or partnered rate consistent with the calculation of the rate of their qualifying payment where applicable.
