1.2.5 Maternity allowance & maternity payment (MPY) - description

Introduction

From 1 July 2004, maternity payment (MPY) replaced maternity allowance and the ATO baby bonus. Maternity allowance was grandfathered until 29 December 2004. The ATO baby bonus was grandfathered until 30 June 2004.

MPY was re-named baby bonus on 1 July 2007.

Baby bonus was abolished on 1 March 2014 and was replaced with NBS (1.2.18) and SBP (1.2.19).
