4.7.1 CCS & ACCS allowable absences

Summary

CCS or ACCS is payable for up to 42 absence days per child, across all approved child care services they attend, during each financial year. These are called allowable absences. Allowable absences can be used for any reason, including for public holidays or when the child is sick. No supporting documentation is required to access these payable absences.

The 42 allowable absences are used consecutively and must be used before any additional absences (1.1.A.17) can be accessed.

In shared care arrangements (where separated parents both claim CCS for the child's care), the 42 absences are allocated to the child, not to each individual parent.
