9.3.7 Scheme sunset day

Summary

The Scheme sunset day is the scheduled end date of the National Redress Scheme. This date is the day of the tenth anniversary of the Scheme start day, being 30 June 2028. The Scheme started on 1 July 2018, this means the Scheme's scheduled sunset day is 30 June 2028.

All applications to the Scheme must be made at least one year before the sunset day. The Operator (1.1.O.30) may accept applications in the final year before the Scheme's sunset day in exceptional circumstances.

Children who turn 18 after the sunset day cannot make an application to the Scheme.
