10.24.11.20 Termination of the Agreement with Japan

Termination of the Agreement

Article 31 provides that the Agreement remains in force for 12 months following the month in which either Australia or Japan notifies the other through diplomatic channels that they intend to terminate the Agreement.

Should the Agreement be terminated, it will continue to have effect for existing beneficiaries and people who have lodged claims and would be entitled prior to the date it ceases.
