10.27.10 Medical examinations - Agreement with the Republic of North Macedonia

Introduction

This section deals with medical examinations for determining eligibility for the Republic of North Macedonia's benefits, made under the Agreement.

Medical examinations

Article 16 provides that each country will apply its own legislation in order to assess a person's capacity for work, or capacity for independent life and work to determine a right to benefit or for extending payment of a benefit under the Republic of North Macedonia's legislation (disability pension).

The competent institution of the contracting party where the person is resident will, on request from the other competent institution of the contracting party, arrange an appropriate medical examination where necessary. The requesting authority will pay for the cost of this examination.

All available relevant medical reports and documentation will be sent to the other contracting party (free of charge).
