10.4.4.20 Where People Can Lodge Claims under the Agreement with Italy

Where claims can be lodged

Claims for Australian benefits covered by the Agreement with Italy can be lodged:

in Italy, with any office of INPS, ENPALS or INPGI,
in a third country, with which Australia has an appropriate agreement, with the authority nominated in the administrative arrangement to the appropriate agreement, and
in Australia, with any Centrelink office.

Article 16 of the Agreement with Italy allows for the date a claim is lodged in the territory of the other party, or the authority nominated in the administrative arrangement of a third country with which Australia has an agreement that covers claim lodgement, to be accepted as the date of lodgement in Australia and Italy.
