12.3.8 Supporting people at risk - overview

Introduction

SS(Admin)Act Part 3AA sets up the framework for the SPAR measure. These provisions cover social security payments and some payments received under the family assistance law, the student assistance legislation, and administrative schemes such as ABSTUDY.

Overview of SPAR measure

Under this enhanced income management measure, a recognised state or territory authority is able to notify Services Australia that a person be subject to enhanced income management under SS(Admin)Act Part 3AA.
