Current rates

UA is paid in 4 instalments in March, June, September and December each year. This table shows the annual rates for UA at 20 September 2023.

Partnered - each eligible partner 375.40
Partnered - temporarily separated couple, illness separated couple, respite care couple or partner imprisoned 750.80

Indexation

UA is indexed to the CPI twice a year in March and September.

UA payability

A number of changes to UA payability came into effect from 20 September 2009 as a result of the Secure and Sustainable Pension Reform Package. Refer to 3.8.13.
