5.1.7.46 SSL - current rate

Current rates

In 2024, the amount of the SSL is $1,273 per qualification period (1 January to 30 June and 1 July to 31 December).

Indexation (1.1.I.100)

On 1 January each year, the amount of the SSL is indexed to the lower of either the CPI or the Wage Price Index (WPI) for the previous June quarter, rounded to the nearest dollar.

Timing of payments

A person can receive up to 2 loans per calendar year. The loan will be paid as close to the beginning of each university semester as possible.
