5.1.7.46 SSL - current rate

Current rates

In 2024, the amount of the SSL is $1,273 per qualification period (1 January to 30 June and 1 July to 31 December).

Indexation (1.1.I.100)

On 1 January each year, the amount of the SSL is indexed in line with CPI increases for the previous June quarter, rounded to the nearest dollar.

Timing of payments

A person can receive up to 2 loans per calendar year. The loan will be paid as close to the beginning of each university semester as possible.
