Parenting payment

For PP, POI is required for:

  • the claimant, AND
  • the claimant's partner (where the claimant has a partner), AND
  • the 'PP child/ren'.

If POI for the 'PP child' has already been provided in the context of a claim for FTB, then the POI requirement for PP can be considered to have been met. It is NOT necessary for POI to be produced again. However, if POI for the child has NOT been provided in the context of an FTB claim, then POI must be provided.

Example: As a PP recipient has not claimed FTB, POI must be provided.

While an FTB record can be used for POI purposes for the child, an FTB record CANNOT be used as POI for the claimant or their partner. The claimant and partner must produce POI in the context of their claim for PP.
