6.3.4.50 Deductions from instalments payable to another person
Summary
If the debt (1.1.D.50) is incurred by a person who is a PPL claimant (1.1.P.170) or special PPL claimant (1.1.S.60) for PLP, the debt may be recovered by deductions made to another PPL claimant or special PPL claimant in relation to the same child. The specific amount of these deductions must be authorised in writing by the other claimant, and this authority can be withdrawn or varied in writing by the other claimant at any time.
The amount owed by the PPL claimant or special PPL claimant is reduced by the amount that is deducted from the other PPL claimant or special PPL claimant's instalments.
