Note: THIS PAYMENT HAS CEASED. The following INFORMATION is for HISTORICAL PURPOSES ONLY.

The ISB is a tax-free payment made twice a year to eligible recipients of NSA, SA, YA, Austudy, ABSTUDY living allowance, SpB, PPS, PPP, farm household allowance as well as recipients under the VCES and the MRCA Education and Training Scheme, to assist with unexpected costs.

How ISB is paid

The ISB is paid twice annually on or after the test dates in March and September.

The ISB is paid automatically to eligible recipients.

This payment ceased on 31 December 2016.
