10.2.12.10 Review of the Agreement with New Zealand

Review

Article 24 allows the Agreement to be reviewed when either Party requests a review. The Agreement specifies that Australia and New Zealand should meet to discuss the review within 6 months of the request being made and the requesting Party agrees to travel to the other country, unless otherwise agreed.

Settlement of disputes

Article 23 sets out the procedure to be followed to settle a dispute. The Competent Authorities of Australia and New Zealand will attempt to settle disputes regarding the Agreement by considering the spirit of the Agreement and its fundamental principles. The Parties agree to consult promptly at the request of either, concerning matters which cannot be resolved by the Competent Authorities.
