10.27.7.20 Embargoes on arrears of Macedonian benefits

Embargoes

Article 19 of the Agreement contains bilateral embargo provisions. This means that the amount of any overpayment of Australian benefit following the grant of Macedonian benefit can be withheld from the arrears of Macedonian benefit, with only the remaining balance paid to the recipient, and vice versa. Centrelink International Services is responsible for liaising with the Republic of North Macedonia and making the necessary arrangements.
