1.1.A.55 Advance assessment day (FTB advance)

Definition

Where an individual makes a request for an FTB advance, their advance assessment day is the day the Secretary determines their entitlement to the FTB advance (1.2.8).

For the first advance paid as a regular FTB advance, the advance assessment day depends on when the individual requests that the Secretary determines their advance. An individual may request that their first regular advance be determined at a specified future date, which may generally be up to 182 days (26 weeks) in the future.

If an individual has previously been paid a regular FTB advance and has not withdrawn the request, the advance assessment day is the day after the end of the last of the intervals of 182 days of their existing regular advance.
