1.1.C.165 COVID-19 affected claimant

Definition

A person is a COVID-19 affected claimant for a child for PLP if:

  • either
    • the child is born or adopted between 22 March 2020 and 31 March 2021, or
    • if the claim is made before the child's expected DOB or placement for adoption - the expected DOB or placement is between 22 March 2020 and 31 March 2021, and
  • the person is required to satisfy the work test to be eligible for payment, and
  • Centrelink is satisfied that, as a result of the adverse effects of COVID-19
    • the person became unemployed
    • the person had their working hours reduced, or
    • the person's business was suspended or suffered a reduction in turnover, and
  • as a result of this the person does not satisfy the work test under the usual work test period (1.1.W.40) of 392 days.
