1.1.N.110 Non-economic loss compensation

This definition applies to all payments.

Definition

Non-economic loss compensation refers to personal injury compensation that is NOT made in respect of lost earnings or lost capacity to earn.

Non-economic loss compensation can include pain and suffering and impairment payments which may be paid under workers' compensation, motor vehicle accident, public liability and criminal compensation schemes.
