1.1.N.50 New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS)

Definition

NEIS is a program administered by DEWR that helps eligible people start and run viable small businesses. NEIS participants may be eligible to receive payments from DEWR. Payments made under NEIS are excluded from the ordinary income test under SSAct section 8(8)(t) and subject to the self-employment program provisions under SSAct Part 3.15.
