11.1.3.70 Taxation & child support liabilities under income management

Taxation & child support liabilities

The act of income managing a portion of a person's payments does not affect matters such as the person's tax or child support liabilities. Money that is paid into the income management account is taken to have been paid to the person on the same date as otherwise would have occurred. This applies for the purposes of income tax, social security, family assistance, student assistance, veterans' entitlements, child support law, welfare agencies and state and territory housing authorities.
