2 Child support assessments

Introduction

The Registrar can make an administrative assessment (1.1.A.30) of child support (1.1.C.60). These assessments may require one or both parents (1.1.P.10) to pay child support for a child to the other parent or non-parent carer.

A liability arising under a child support assessment (1.1.C.70) is a registrable maintenance liability (1.1.R.40).

Overview

The chapters in this part describe the rules relating to child support assessments, including the formulas that are used to calculate how much child support may be payable.
