2.10 Suspending & ending assessments

Introduction

This chapter contains information about how a liability to pay child support can be suspended when the parents reconcile. If the parents remain reconciled for 6 months, the assessment will be ended.

This chapter also contains information about how a person entitled to receive child support can elect to end the assessment. Information about other terminating events that end an assessment is also included.

WA ex-nuptial cases

The information in this chapter applies to WA-ex nuptial children. See 1.2.3 for details of the date from which various provisions had effect.
