1.1.P.280 Public interest certificate

Definition

Public interest certificate means a certificate issued under PPLAct, for the disclosure of relevant information. A public interest certificate might be issued, for example, in a situation where there is a threat to life, health or welfare.

In giving certificates for the purposes of PPLAct paragraph 128(1)(a), the Secretary must act in accordance with guidelines (if any) in force under subsection 128(4).
