Separate claim form is not required

Under current administrative arrangements a separate claim form is not required for a number of supplementary payments. These payments are set out in the table below.

Payment Claim requirements
Rent assistance A separate claim form is not required.

Employment entry payment (EEP) (see note below) There is no formal claim form for EEP.
EEP is paid when a claimant provides:

  • a written request or statement, OR
  • verbal advice of earnings.
Education entry payment For claimants not eligible for PES written notification of the commencement of, or enrolment in studies is regarded as a claim for EdEP (3.8.6.10).
For claimants eligible for PES, verification of receipt of PES is taken to be a claim for EdEP. EdEP will then be paid each calendar year (or 12 months for some payments), once continued receipt of PES is verified (3.8.6.20).
Telephone allowance A separate claim form is not required.
Remote area allowance A separate claim form is not required.

Note: EEP was abolished 1 July 2008. From that date claims can only be made in respect of employment events occurring before 1 July 2008.
