1.1.A.220 Approved voluntary work organisation (JSP, YA, PP, SpB)
Definition
For the purposes of JSP and YA, PP and SpB, an approved organisation must be:
- community based, with appropriate insurance, OR
- a government sector agency.
In either case, the organisation or agency must be 'not for profit'.
The work must be in positions which would not normally be filled by paid employees and which have a community focus. Services Australia or the person’s employment services provider (whichever is appropriate) makes the decision as to which voluntary work placements receive approval. For more information on approved voluntary work, see 3.11.3.30.
Any voluntary work organisation hosting a voluntary work placement approved by Services Australia may have the name of their organisation publicly disclosed.
