1.1.P.75 Participation requirements (DSP)

Definition

For the purposes of DSP, from 1 July 2012, participation requirements apply to certain DSP recipients under age 35.

From 1 July 2014 DSP recipients under age of 35 with participation requirements must have a compulsory work-focused activity in their participation plans. Participation requirements include:

  • attending participation interviews
  • signing a participation plan with a compulsory work-focused activity, and
  • undertaking the compulsory work-focused activity.

Exemptions to participation requirements may apply to certain DSP recipients.

Note: DSP recipients with participation requirements who engage with employment service providers sign a Job Plan with their provider. That Job Plan is their participation plan under the SSAct.
