1.1.C.190 Clean energy payment

Definition

Clean energy payments include the clean energy advance (CEA), ES, LIS and the EMEP. In normal circumstances, only ES and EMEP can be paid after 30 June 2017.

From 20 September 2014 the ES replaced the clean energy supplement (CES). Refer to 1.2.7.50 for more details.

These payments were introduced in 2012 as part of the Clean Energy Future measure to assist households adjust to the introduction of a carbon price from 1 July 2012. The clean energy payments formed part of the measure's household assistance package, together with payments under the following Acts or administrative schemes:
